It has been quite a journey, creating this Lovely Lady. She has taken years to complete and it wasn’t until recently that I fully understood the reason.

Here she stands before you, naked and alone, with only herself to hold onto. Yet, even though she is vulnerable to the world around her, she stands tall, with strength, conviction and elegance, ready to face whatever obstacles come her way.

Throughout my life, I have found myself frequently in the same situation, never desiring to be, and still striving to find comfort in. Looking at her, I feel sadness, strength and a sense of accomplishment for all the tribulations I’ve made it through.

An interesting aspect about a painting taking years to complete, is that the old brush strokes can be viewed underneath the new. When standing before her, I see my history, how much I’ve grown and how far I’ve come. Thank you, you Beautiful Lady, for teaching me so much. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed our dance.
